Summary: Eligible donors can support your nonprofit through Every.org with a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) from an IRA. Every.org provides the donor with instructions, and the donor’s IRA provider sends the check directly to Every.org to complete the donation.
Eligible donors can support your nonprofit through Every.org with gifts from an IRA.
Your nonprofit does not need to receive or process the IRA funds directly. Every.org is the legal charitable recipient of the gift and later provides an unrestricted grant of USD to your organization.

How does an IRA donation work?
The donor starts the donation through Every.org:
They:
- Visit Every.org and find the nonprofit they would like to support. They do not need to sign in to or create an Every.org account to make a donation.
- Select Donate.
- Choose IRA as the donation method.
- Enter the donation amount.
- Complete the remaining steps in the donation flow.
- Review and save the instructions, which will be emailed to them.
- Contact their IRA provider and tell them they’d like to make a QCD gift by check, and share the instructions from Every.org
Donor chooses IRA as their donation method to begin a gift from their IRA and enters the amount they want to give.
Why is Every.org the recipient instead of my nonprofit?
Every.org is a U.S. 501(c)(3) public charity and is the legal charitable recipient of all gifts made through the Every.org platform.
After receiving and processing the donation, Every.org issues an unrestricted grant to the nonprofit selected by the donor. As a legal matter, Every.org must provide these funds to the organization on an unrestricted basis, regardless of any designation or restriction requested by the donor.
This allows your nonprofit to offer IRA giving without needing to receive or process IRA-issued checks, helping to reduce administrative burden.
Where does the IRA provider send the funds?
The instructions provided to donors include the information needed to send the check to Every.org.
Please note that the IRA provider must make the check payable to Every.org, not your nonprofit, or we will be unable to process the donation. This information is included in the gift instructions shared with the donor.
What will I see after a donor starts an IRA donation?
After a donor starts an IRA donation through Every.org, the donation will appear as Pending while we wait to receive the check from the donor’s IRA provider.
Starting the donation does not mean the funds have been sent, and the donor must contact their IRA provider separately to ask them to send the QCD check using the instructions Every.org provided.
Once Every.org receives and processes the check, the donation is completed and will be in an Available status, indicating that it is ready to be disbursed on our regular disbursement schedule.
How long do IRA donations take?
The total time depends largely on how long the donor’s IRA provider takes to issue and mail the check.
Because Every.org does not control IRA-provider processing or mailing times, we cannot provide an estimate for that part of the process.
Once Every.org receives the check, we generally identify and process the donation within 48 business hours, as long as the check contains enough information for us to match it to the correct donation.
If a donor has confirmed that their IRA provider sent the check and they have not heard from Every.org within two weeks of the date the check was sent, they should contact Every.org Support.
How does my nonprofit receive the funds?
After Every.org receives and processes the funds, we issue an unrestricted grant to your nonprofit per our regular disbursement schedule, which can range from 1–6 weeks depending on your disbursement method.

Does the donor receive a receipt?
IRA donors can expect to receive an acknowledgment email, but not a tax-deductible receipt, because QCD gifts are excluded from taxable income rather than deducted. Every.org sends this acknowledgment after receiving and successfully processing the IRA donation.
Are there fees for IRA donations?
Every.org does not charge a fee for donations from an IRA. You can learn more about fees at every.org/pricing.
Can donors give anonymously?
Yes. Unless you have opted to disable anonymous gifts for your nonprofit in your donation form, donors can choose to make their IRA donation without sharing their contact information with your organization by following the options in the Every.org donation flow.
Does my nonprofit need to do anything to accept IRA donations?
Your nonprofit does not need to take any additional action or steps to accept IRA donations through Every.org.
If you have not disabled IRA as a payment method, eligible donors can start their gift through Every.org and receive the instructions they need to complete it with their IRA provider.

What if a donor asks us about QCD eligibility or tax rules?
Every.org does not determine whether a donor’s retirement account or individual circumstances qualify for a QCD, and we are unable to provide legal or tax advice.
Please direct donors to their IRA provider, financial advisor, or tax professional if they have questions about their eligibility or broader tax questions.
What should I do if I need help?
For help with questions about starting an IRA donation or checking the status of a donation that has already been started, contact Every.org Support.
