If you have matching funds available, a matching campaign is a great way to encourage more donations by offering to match contributions dollar-for-dollar.
How matching campaigns for fundraisers work
- Every.org does not provide matching funds. The nonprofit or supporter creating the fundraiser is responsible for managing and fulfilling the match.
- If you’re creating a peer-to-peer fundraiser (meaning you’re not officially part of the nonprofit), you can fulfill the match by making a separate donation to the nonprofit through Every.org.
- Nonprofits can also have the person or organization funding the match fulfill it by making a donation to them using Every.org
- All donations are matched 1:1, meaning a $50 donation will be matched $50, for a total of $100 (up to the limits you set).
- When you add a matching campaign, a match notice ("Double your impact! Donations matched 1:1") will appear above the Donate button on your fundraiser.
- Donors will see their matched amount throughout the donation process and in their donation receipt.
- Monthly donations will only be matched for the first month. They will not be matched in following months. This is communicated in the first and second steps of the donation flow.
- The matching campaign will automatically end when the available matching funds run out or the end date is reached.
- Only donations made to that specific fundraiser will be matched.
- You can set the total matching amount, a per-donation match limit, and start/end dates (see instructions below).

- Specify the total available matching funds (the maximum amount you’ll match).
- Optionally, set a maximum match per donation (e.g., matching donations up to $500 each).

- Launch Your Fundraiser
- Click Launch to make your fundraiser live!
Managing your matching campaign
- You can increase or decrease the matching fund amount or change the dates at any time while the match is active.
- If donations have already been matched, you cannot lower the matching fund total below the amount already matched.
- If your match campaign ends because funds ran out or the end date passed, you can resume it by adding more funds or extending the end date.
- After matching funds run out or the match end date has been reached donations will no longer be matched, but the fundraiser will remain open for regular contributions.
