Using a Gift Card / Credit
You can use a gift card or giving credit balance to support any nonprofit on Every.org.
If you’ve received a code for an Every.org charity gift card, you can activate it by simply clicking the link or entering the code into the redemption page.
Once you’ve activated the card, your gift card balance will automatically be applied to any donations you make. You can check your gift card balance at any time by visiting your Payments Overview.
Purchasing Gift Cards
To purchase gift cards, go to every.org/gift-cards.
You will receive a short activation link (every.org/gift?c=CODE) for each gift card you purchase. Send this activation link to its recipient for them to claim the gift card value.
Purchased gift cards do not expire and may be used at any time. The full amount of your gift card purchase qualifies as a charitable contribution for US tax purposes (however, the recipient of your gift card is not entitled to a tax deduction for the value of the card).
When a recipient clicks on the gift link, they will see a landing page like this (with your name of course):
Once they complete signup, they will see a popup showing the amount they have available. Once they find a nonprofit they like, they can click "Donate" and see the gift card balance available to them to complete the donation.
Expiration and breakage revenue
Every.org gift cards never expire nor do they have any dormancy fees, consistent with California law. In the event a gift card has not been used for 2 years then our accountants will recognize it as "breakage" meaning that we may apply the value of the gift card towards running Every.org. However, gift cards over 2 years old will still work and can be redeemed at any time.
