The project feature empowers your nonprofit to create distinct profiles for subsidiary organizations that appear to the public like a regular nonprofit profile. For a brief overview of how projects function, please see this introductory video.
Donations raised in support of your projects will be disbursed to a bank account controlled by your nonprofit, and they will be labeled with metadata to help you track which project they support. You will be able to invite unique administrators to manage a project, and in addition, your nonprofit admins will also have admin access to your projects. This makes projects ideal for organizations that you sponsor financially, such as if you are a fiscal sponsor.
Who can use a project page?
Anyone who has claimed their Every.org nonprofit profile has access to our project feature.
For fiscally sponsored projects, we ask that you connect us to your fiscal sponsor representative in order to create a project on your behalf. You can contact us for further assistance.
How do I create a project?
First, ensure you have admin access to your Every.org nonprofit profile. You can claim your Every.org nonprofit profile by searching for your organization and creating an account here. Once you have admin access, go to your admin dashboard and then to the “Settings” tab. At the bottom of Settings, you’ll see “Create a project page.”
From there, you’ll be able to create projects and invite administrators to build out their pages. If you would like us to batch upload a quantity of project profiles on your behalf, please contact us.
How do I manage a project page, and how many can I have?
There is no limit to the number of projects you can create. Once you’ve created one project, you will gain a new tab on your admin dashboard titled “Projects.”
From this page, you’ll be able to access each project by clicking on each profile. Clicking on their profile will direct you to their admin dashboard where you can update profile information, invite admins to manage the project, and archive any projects.
To archive a project, click on the profile you would like to archive. Head to “Settings,” and click on “Advanced settings.” Under “Advanced settings” you will see “Archive this project,” which will hide the project on Every.org and prevent future donations. Previous donations will not be deleted and will still be visible in a donor's giving history, and recurring donations will be canceled.
How do I set up disbursements for a project page?
You can learn about our disbursement options, timing, and any applicable fees here. We strongly recommend securely connecting a bank account through Stripe for disbursements, and for projects, there are two options.
Single Stripe account
Securely connect a bank account for your own nonprofit. If a project doesn't have its own connected Stripe account, we'll send disbursements to the bank account you've connected to your nonprofit. You will be able to see how much is meant for each project through your nonprofit admin dashboard, email alerts, and the "Description" field in the Stripe dashboard.
You can get a report of the payments using the "Export" button.
Multiple Stripe accounts (for unique statement descriptors)
Securely connect a bank account for each project. Depending on your accounting needs, you may wish to receive separate payouts for each unique project so that you can have unique statement descriptors in your bank statements.
For this, you will have to complete the connect bank account flow for each project, which will connect a different Stripe account to each project.
Your can modify the bank statement descriptor from your Stripe Settings.
What if a project receives its own 501(c)(3) status?
We can convert the existing project into a nonprofit profile and update the disbursement information, which will preserve the existing donation data. Please contact us for assistance.
