Cryptocurrency is relatively new and guidelines may change. You should consult your CPA or tax consultant for tax advice. The below information is provided for informational purposes only and does not constitute tax advice from Every.org.
For cryptocurrency donations above $500, the IRS Form 8283 may be required to claim a tax deduction. For cryptocurrency donations of over $5,000 dollars in value, donors are also required to get an appraisal of the assets donated.
Every.org will include the value as reported by Coinbase at the time of donation in the receipt as a courtesy, but Every.org cannot provide tax advice or appraisals. If you need Every.org to sign your 8283, email it to support@every.org and we will sign and return it within 7 business days.
